Prep notebook: Eagle Valley cyclist in pole position after Colorado High School Cycling League season opener

After the first of four Colorado High School Cycling League mountain bike race weekends, Eagle Valley’s Eric Asselin is the Yampa Region points leader. The senior won the varsity boys race at the Cloud City Challenge in Leadville on Aug. 23, covering the 18.6-mile course in 1 hour, 19 minutes, 37.18 seconds.
