Prep boys basketball: Spring Valley's Chaffin MSAC coach of the year
In the Mountain State Athletic Conference, Rick Chaffin sits on the summit. Chaffin, Spring Valley High School's boys basketball coach, was named MSAC coach of the year Monday. He guided the Timberwolves to a 20-3 record, their first league title and a spot in the Class AAAA state semifinals. "I'm very honored by the MSAC coach of the year award," Chaffin said. "It's the culmination of teamwork between my assistant coaches and my players."
