Rajkummar Rao-Starrer Prahaar Gets New Release Date
The courtroom drama on veteran prosecutor Ujjwal Nikam now opens in October after the makers pushed it back from an August release.
On Thursday, August 13, 2026, the makers of Prahaar announced the biographical film has been postponed from August 7 to October 16, 2026. The drama follows special public prosecutor Ujjwal Nikam.
Directed by Avinash Arun, the film focuses on Nikam's pivotal role in the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks investigation while examining his legal battles from the 1993 Bombay bombings. The project explores both courtroom and personal dimensions.
Rajkummar gained 10 kgs for the role, marking his eighth collaboration with producer Dinesh Vijan. The ensemble cast includes Wamiqa Gabbi, Jaideep Ahlawat, and Sikandar Kher in pivotal roles.
The October 16, 2026 release date positions the courtroom drama for a crowded Dussehra weekend. It faces competition from Raftaar, Toxic, Jailer, and Om.
