A large power outage affecting much of Pictou County and western Antigonish County has been rectified. The outage was reported at 6:16 this morning, caused by a transmission interruption. Close to 8,500 homes and businesses were affected, including New Glasgow, Trenton, Pictou Landing, Sutherlands River, Thorburn, Kenzieville, Barney’s River Station, Merigomish, Knoydart, and Big Island.
