The power outage in Leeuwarden and the surrounding area was caused by a ship carrying a crane that collided with high-voltage power lines around 2:30 PM. One cable was completely destroyed, and another was severely damaged, according to a TenneT spokesperson. Damage was also found to one of the high-voltage pylons. No injuries were reported in the collision.
