This is a new step before any blocking of platforms that have not put in place an identification system that prevents minors from accessing their content.
The obligation to verify the age of users of X sites has been the subject of a ping-pong game between platforms and the government since publishers have to require the sending of a photo or identity document, for example, by proposing at least one method that respects the principle of double anonymity.
They have three weeks to comply with this measure which is supposed to prevent their access to minors, otherwise "Arcom will initiate a procedure of de-listing and blocking against them".
In a press release issued on Monday, August 4, the regulator blames several pornographic sites for not complying with European law, which imposes an online age control.
The authority blames five European sites in total for not having put in place the now mandatory age control systems at entry.
