Rep. Luna Says if Government Shuts Down, SAVE Act Will Be Needed to Re-Open It
Rep. Luna plans to attach the SAVE Act to must-pass funding bills or halt House business to compel Senate action on citizenship verification for voter registration.
Rep. Anna Paulina Luna stated that if Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer shuts down the government, the SAVE Act will be necessary to reopen it.
Luna believes the SAVE Act is essential for election integrity, calling it 'one of the most important things to secure our elections.'
Last week, Luna threatened to shut down the House floor if the Senate didn't pass the SAVE Act, which requires proof of U.S. citizenship for voter registration.
Senate Democrats voted to block funding for the Department of Homeland Security as negotiations continue to avoid a government shutdown.
