Pope Leo XIV urged the Latin American bishops to listen to the faithful and keep the Church together, in a letter he sent on the occasion of the third centenary of the canonization of Saint Toribio of Mogrovejo, patron of the bishops of Latin America, which was published that Saturday.
The pontiff recalled the years in which he exercised his episcopal ministry in Peruvian territory and pointed out that this experience allowed him to know closely the faith of its inhabitants.
In a letter for the third centenary of the canonization of the patron saint of the Latin American episcopate, the pontiff asked the ecclesiastical authorities to maintain the unity of the Church, accompany its priests and go out to meet the communities.
