Pontins owner charged with corporate manslaughter after grandmother death
- The owner of Pontins holiday parks, Britannia Jinky Jersey Ltd, has been charged with corporate manslaughter after 68-year-old Wendy Jones died following a ceiling collapse at a resort in Somerset.
- The incident occurred in February 2019 when 40 meters of ducting and ceiling fell, injuring 17 guests, including Jones.
- Contractor Stephen Bennison has also been charged under the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 for failing to ensure safety measures were in place.
- The defendants are scheduled to appear in court on May 6, 2025.
