Palisades Village Set to Reopen This Weekend Over a Year After Deadly LA Fire
About 70% of tenants will open Saturday after more than $100 million in restoration spending, as most remaining spaces are already leased.
- On Saturday, Developer Rick Caruso reopens Palisades Village, marking a major recovery milestone for Pacific Palisades more than 19 months after the January 2025 Palisades Fire devastated the community.
- The shopping center sustained extensive smoke and water damage during the 2025 blaze, requiring more than $100 million in renovations. Crews stripped the property to its framing to replace walls, insulation, and ducts.
- With 99% of space leased as of early July, the center features returning tenants alongside new businesses. A ribbon-cutting ceremony begins at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, followed by festivities lasting until 8 p.m.
- "This village is the heartbeat of the community," said Loomey's Toys owner Amanda Rastegar. The reopening provides a gathering space for residents as neighborhood rebuilding continues.
- Caruso invested more than $100 million in the project despite financial risks. "I think when you're a major landowner in an area that's been so impacted like the Palisades and you have an opportunity to be a catalyst and help blaze a trail and bring people along with you, especially a place where community can come and gather, you have an obligation to do that," he stated.
