The Police Bureau warned about a new type of email fraud in which criminals pose as uniformed officers to intimidate citizens with false accusations and criminal investigations.

The Puerto Rico Police Bureau warned today about a series of fraudulent emails that have been reaching countless citizens. These emails, posing as representatives of a police division, request an "urgent response" to a supposed investigation into crimes such as child pornography, among others.
