Police stand guard at lake as search for missing woman continues

BARNTON AREA, NORTHWICH, CHESHIRE WEST AND CHESTER, ENGLAND, JUL 20 – Police have expanded the search for Rachel Booth to include a lake and adventure park as concern grows for her welfare, officials said.

  • On Saturday, July 19, Cheshire Police extended their search to Oakmere lake in Barnton, Northwich, after a local woman was reported missing.
  • At around 3:50 am she was captured on CCTV buying wine and milk at Sandiway Garage on the A556, Cheshire Constabulary said she jogged from 45 minutes away.
  • On Monday morning, underwater search units arrived at Delamere Lake holiday park, while Wild Shore adventure park remained closed and Cheshire Search and Rescue joined inquiries.
  • Superintendent Paul Hughes said, "We are currently following a number of inquiries to trace Rachel and are becoming increasingly concerned for her welfare," while Cheshire Police urged anyone with information to call 101, quoting IML-2136439, adding, "let us know you are OK."
  • Supporting the investigation, Wild Shore Delamere Park said the site will remain closed until further notice, adding the incident is unrelated to its operations.
