Police issue arrest warning ahead of mass pro-Palestine Action protest in London
Police say up to 400 supporters could be arrested for helping organize or back the demonstration, which comes before a Supreme Court hearing.
- On Saturday, Metropolitan Police Commander Adam Slonecki warned that around 400 demonstrators gathering outside the United States Embassy in London face arrest for supporting the proscribed group Palestine Action.
- Organizers, the campaign group Defend Our Juries, targeted the Embassy claiming President Donald Trump pressured the British government to proscribe Palestine Action in early 2025 under the Terrorism Act.
- Police will proactively arrest anyone providing logistical support or organizing the event, Commander Slonecki stated. Over 3,300 people have been arrested in Britain for defying the ban since July 2025.
- The protest occurs just days before a British Supreme Court hearing on November 4 and 5 regarding the proscription. Organizers argue the ban disproportionately harms freedom of speech and the right to protest.
- A spokesperson for the organizers described the action on Halloween as an opportunity to expose 'the frightening reality of this authoritarian overreach.' The group plans a simultaneous demonstration outside the American Consulate in Edinburgh.
