(KRON) -- Multiple eastbound lanes on the Bay Bridge were shut down due to police activity Wednesday afternoon, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP). Eastbound lanes 1 and 5 of I-80 just west of Treasure Island were closed. As of 7 p.m., all eastbound lanes have reopened. However, Lane 1 going westbound on the bridge remains closed. Two lanes of Highway 80 in an easterly direction on the Bay Bridge west of Treasure Island were closed on Wednesday afternoon due to a police incident. CHP, firefighters and Caltrans are in place responding to the emergency. Rails 1 and 2 of the bridge are closed and the estimated reopening time is unknown. It is recommended to avoid the area.
