PARAMARIBO — The police have destroyed a total of 163 boxes of cigarettes of various brands. This took place on Sunday following consultation with the Public Prosecution Service. Eleven boxes were seized on February 17 at Stolkertsijver in the Commewijne district, and 152 boxes on March 12 by the Jarikaba police in the Saramacca district. The Fraud and Economic Crimes Department is in charge of coordinating the investigation.
