DEVIL'S DEN STATE PARK, ARKANSAS, AUG 1 – Andrew James McGann, a 28-year-old former teacher, was charged with capital murder after fatally stabbing a couple hiking with their daughters at Devil's Den State Park.
- On Wednesday, Arkansas State Police arrested James Andrew McGann, 28, of Springdale, at 4:57 p.m. and charged him with two counts of capital murder.
- During a Saturday hike on July 26 at Devil's Den State Park, Clinton David Brink, 43, and Cristen Amanda Brink, 41, were fatally attacked after the husband was stabbed about 800 metres into the trail and the mother returned to help their daughters.
- Following the slayings, trails at Devil’s Den State Park remained closed Wednesday after five days of searching, and an arrest was made, Arkansas State Police said.
- Arkansas Secretary of Parks Shay Lewis said all trails at Devil's Den State Park will remain closed for now, with James Andrew McGann scheduled to appear in court on Aug. 1.
