On the outdoor grounds of National Monument Camp Vught, the children's transports of June 1943 were commemorated on Sunday afternoon. Among others, Esther and Selma Huffener, granddaughters of former prisoner Lotty Huffener who lost her sister, gave a speech together.
The annual commemoration of the children's transports from Camp Vught was this year visibly and invisibly secured by police, law enforcement and personal security officers. Tensions in the world, and especially around Israel, are cited as the reason.
