Polar Bear safely captured on Baie Verte Peninsula

Conservation officers with the Department of Fisheries, Forestry and Agriculture have safely captured the polar bear reported on the Baie Verte Peninsula. The bear was transported north for release near sea ice. On Tuesday, the bear was spotted in the Ming’s Bight and Smith’s Harbour area. A helicopter was used to assist in monitoring efforts.
