- On Thursday, producers announced that singer Pink will host the 79th Annual Tony Awards, which will air live from Radio City Music Hall on Sunday, June 7.
- Although she has never performed on Broadway, Pink's music is featured in two current productions: "Raise Your Glass" in Moulin Rouge! The Musical and "F**kin' Perfect" in & Juliet.
- Executive producers Raj Kapoor, Sarah Levine Hall and Jack Sussman called Pink "a fearless artist" whose electrifying stage presence and authenticity embody the spirit of live performance and theater.
- Calling the gig "the honor of an entire lifetime," Pink said she sought permission from her daughter before accepting, noting "that girl is a tough crowd."
- The show will broadcast live to both coasts on CBS and stream on Paramount+ starting at 8 p.m. ET on Sunday, June 7.
