VARANASI DIVISION, UTTAR PRADESH, JUL 31 – Projects worth Rs 2,200 crore target infrastructure, healthcare, and heritage in Varanasi while Rs 20,500 crore is directly transferred to over 9.7 crore farmers, PMO said.
- Prime Minister Narendra Modi will on Saturday visit Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, to inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for 52 projects worth Rs 2,183.45 crore at around 11 AM.
- On Friday, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announced his visit to Varanasi, with projects spanning roads, healthcare, education, tourism and urban development, according to a government statement.
- Specific cultural projects include a museum at Munshi Premchand's house in Lamahi and an Rs 881 crore cabling scheme, along with road and medical infrastructure works.
- As part of farmer welfare efforts, the prime minister will authorise a Rs 20,500 crore transfer to over 9.70 crore farmers via the 20th instalment of the PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme.
- Beyond the inaugurations, the projects aim for holistic transformation across Varanasi, spanning infrastructure, cultural heritage, urban development, and quality of life improvements, the government said.
