Pakistan PM Sharif to Visit China From May 23 to 26
The state visit will mark 75 years of diplomatic ties and include a Pakistan-China business conference to expand investment and cooperation.
On Friday, Foreign Office spokesperson Tahir Andrabi announced Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will visit China from May 23 to 26, beginning in Hangzhou to chair the Pakistan-China Business-to-Business Investment Conference.
Marking the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations, the visit reaffirms the Pakistan-China all-weather strategic partnership. Sharif stated, "China has stood like a rock with Pakistan in every difficult time."
The Prime Minister will meet Chinese President Xi Jinping and Premier Li Qiang to review bilateral cooperation in high-quality development, trade, investment, and agriculture modernization.
Pakistan continues diplomatic efforts for peace and de-escalation amid Middle East tensions, with Andrabi confirming leadership remains in contact with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian regarding regional developments.
Separately, the Foreign Office paid tribute to Kashmiri leaders Mirwaiz Maulvi Mohammad Farooq and Abdul Gani Lone, while Andrabi urged the international community to "hold India accountable and ensure a just solution" in occupied Kashmir.
