PlayStation Portal OLED Model Hinted at in New Sony Filings
The certifications suggest updated handhelds may keep the Portal’s streaming focus while adding Android 15 and an OLED option, according to reporting and leaks.
Sony registered two unannounced devices, CFI-Y2000 and CFI-Y2105, with The Wi-Fi Alliance on September 21, 2026, classified as "Gaming console/peripherals" and appearing to be updated PlayStation Portal versions.
Hardware leaker KeplerL2 reported earlier this year that Sony was working on "another version" of the Portal for this year that would be an "OLED version," as covered by VideoCardz.
Both devices run on Android like the original CFI-Y1001, yet lack 6GHz Wi-Fi support; they are certified for 2.4GHz and 5GHz Wi-Fi only, matching current hardware connectivity.
The original PlayStation Portal, featuring an 8 inch LCD screen, maintains a 5% attach rate to The PS5 owners, supporting Sony executives' stated goal to take The PlayStation "Beyond the living room."
While Sony is expected to eventually announce a native PS5 handheld using AMD graphics, the Portal remains a low-cost Cloud streaming device, with these updates suggesting continued investment in accessible gaming.
