Plastic caps on beaches are increasing – despite a rewritten law

The number of plastic caps littering the West Coast is increasing sharply, reports P4 Halland, citing a new report from the Keep Sweden Clean foundation. It is the first time in several years that the number of plastic caps on the beaches has increased.

EU legislation to reduce the number of corks thrown into the environment was introduced last year. But according to a new report, the number of plastic corks polluting beaches along the West Coast is increasing for the first time in years.

The new EU law was supposed to put an end to plastic corks in nature. But now a recent report shows that corks polluting our beaches are on the rise.
