Plans to introduce robot-assisted surgery tools to Newfoundland and Labrador's health-care system were unveiled to the public on Wednesday, and the Health Care Foundation says it's already over halfway toward its fundraising goal to make it a reality.

"After a year and a half, in which we are already using the Mako robot for knee endoprosthetics, we are even more convinced: the system has established itself, our patients benefit greatly from it and we therefore want to use the surgical robot in future also for the implantation of artificial hip joints", explains Prof. Dr. Marcel Betsch, Head of the Department of Orthopaedics of the...
