South China Sea: Philippines arrests five more Chinese for ‘spying’
- Five Chinese citizens were arrested for allegedly spying on Philippine Navy assets in Palawan, according to the National Bureau of Investigation .
- NBI Director Jaime Santiago stated the suspects were apprehended at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport after conducting aerial surveillance.
- The group was found to have drones and a long-range CCTV, monitoring the movements of Coast Guard and naval assets, as reported by NBI Cybercrime Division chief Jeremy Lotoc.
- This arrest followed the apprehension of another Chinese and two Filipinos for alleged espionage two weeks prior, as mentioned by Lotoc.
