Phil Collins Hasn't Played the Drums for 15 Years
Collins said drop foot, five knee operations and sudden deafness have kept him from playing drums for about 15 years.
On Friday, 75-year-old music legend Phil Collins appeared on Piers Morgan Uncensored, disclosing, "I regret my marriages falling apart" ahead of his November Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction.
Collins married three times, resulting in five children; his marriage to Jill Tavelman ended "because I wasn't there," as Genesis toured constantly throughout the late 1970s.
Due to chronic health issues including sudden deafness and drop foot, Collins remains unable to play drums after 15 years away from the instrument, struggling to hold the stick properly.
Repairing past fractures, Collins now shares a group chat with his five children and called last Christmas dinner with them "moving," noting they interact "like a real family."
Having made amends with Paul McCartney after years of public speculation, Collins remains active in public discourse, expressing support for Morgan's show on geopolitical and royal matters.
