The PGA Tour’s Sony Open in Hawai‘i, the first full-field tournament of the 2025 season, begins Thursday at Waialae Country Club. Among the competitors is Kaimukī graduate and 2006 HHSAA state champion Chan Kim, the state’s lone PGA Tour member. This week’s appearance marks Kim’s 51st career PGA Tour event. The three-time top-10 finisher has played Waialae twice before but has yet to make it past the cut.
