Subramanian Swamy Moves SC, Seeks Direction to Centre to Decide Representation on 'Ram Setu'

In his petition, Subramanian Swamy has said that as per the order of the Supreme Court in January 2023, he had applied to the Center demanding to declare Ram Setu as a national monument but the central government has not taken any decision yet. In the petition, Subramanian Swamy has said that Ram Setu meets all the prescribed criteria to be called an ancient monument.

Under the Setu Samudram project initiated during the Congress-led UPA regime, the Ram Setu was to be demolished to make way for ships. Later this action was stopped after the intervention of the court.
