Hungary commemorated the 500th anniversary of the Battle of Mohács on Saturday, with Prime Minister Péter Magyar (Tisza) stressing that the Hungarians had managed to recover from this catastrophic defeat. The Battle of Mohács in 1526 was a decisive Ottoman victory that led to the collapse of the medieval Kingdom of Hungary. It also killed Louis Jagiellon, King of Bohemia, Croatia and Hungary.
