Vellore inaugurated a permanent police outpost at the new bus terminus to ensure commuter safety. It was opened by the DIG and SP, and will be manned by 10 police personnel, including women constables. It has two rooms with CCTV cameras, and will be led by a sub-inspector. The district police also installed 10 CCTV cameras at Dhobi Khana in Old Town.
