Pemberville Opera House to host free screening of ‘The Wind’ – BG Independent News

From PEMBERVILLE OPERA HOUSE The Pemberville Opera House is pleased to announce its participation in the Ohio Goes to the Movies, all Ohio movie series with the presentation of “The Wind,” a silent movie featuring Ohio-born and raised actress, Lillian Gish. This event will take place Sunday, Sept. 20, starting at 2 p.m., with Michael Hurwitz, an historian who studied under Gish at the New York Drama School. Hurwitz became friends with Gish, spending many afternoons in her home. He will share insights into her life and friendship and share some memorabilia of Gish. Following Hurwitz’s presentation will be the screening of “The Wind,” starring Gish and accompanied on the piano by Lynne Long of Grand Rapids. Following the movie, there will be a grazing table and mocktails to complete the afternoon. The event is free and open to the public.
