Bessemer man dies after being struck by vehicle

BESSEMER, Ala. — A Bessemer man died Friday after being struck by a vehicle, according to the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office. Steven Earl Harris, 50, was injured on the 5900 block of Pocahontas Road at 1:38 a.m. Friday, July 31. Harris was taken to UAB Hospital and pronounced dead at 4:40 a.m. Harris was a pedestrian when he was hit. The driver remained on scene and reported the accident to officials.
