The cabinet will not force farmers to get rid of part of their livestock via a general order. That is a ‘no-go’, says Minister of Agriculture Jaimi van Essen. He is responding to a report by the Netherlands Environmental Assessment Agency (PBL) stating that the cabinet’s nitrogen plans are not sufficient to restore nature.
