Arizona Rep. Gosar: U.S.’s top military officer ‘would be hung’ in a better society
Arizona Rep. Paul Gosar faces backlash for writing that Gen. Mark Milley, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, "would be hung" in a better society. This followed comments by former President Donald Trump, accusing Milley of treason and suggesting that his alleged crimes would be punishable by death.
Gosar's controversial comments continue, as he claimed without evidence that Milley and Nancy Pelosi colluded to delay the National Guard's response to the Capitol riot, in an attempt to make Trump look bad. He referred to Milley using derogatory language and labeled him as a "homosexual-promoting-Black Lives Matter activist" and a "deviant."
Gosar has a history of making controversial, bigoted, and violent comments, as well as associating with extremists. In 2021, he was censured and stripped of committee assignments for posting an animated video that depicted violence against Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and President Joe Biden.
