The Ministry of Health has recognized persistent covid, celiac disease, chronic non-oncological pain and polio sequelae as chronic diseases, including them in the Operational Plan 2025-2028 of the Strategy for the Addressing of Chronicity, approved by the Interterritorial Council of the National Health System (CISNS).

This first step can involve the recognition and improvement of both care and quality of life for the more than 2.4 million people affected.
