Since April 21, 1971, Gary’s Bar-B-Q has been a China Grove institution. On March 3, 2026, the torch — tongs? heat-resistant gloves? — passed to a new owner. Conard Haywood is also a familiar name in the local restaurant business. He owns the Field House in Kannapolis as well as the Party House.
