The Vatican is hosting a conference this week on promoting a key teaching from the Second Vatican Council and a fundamental part of being a "synodal church": Helping Catholic clergy and Catholic laity recognize that baptism calls all of them to share responsibility for the life of the church, each according to his or her vocation, talents and time.
