Part of Columbia’s Silvey street closed for winter

Columbia officials say a section of Silvey street between I-70 Drive Southwest and the preschool entrance at the top of the hill will stay closed for the rest of winter. Columbia Public Works says the steep grade on the north end of Silvey frequently becomes slick during cold weather, creating hazardous conditions with little warning.
