The Centre plans to complete the registration of all beneficiaries under its PARIVARTAN scheme within a year, with the programme targeting the replacement of more than two lakh trucks and buses in Delhi-NCR that conform to Bharat Stage (BS)-IV or earlier emission norms with BS-VI or stricter norm-compliant-vehicles or electric vehicles.
A month after the launch of the Parivartan program in Delhi-NCR, which aims to refurbish older commercial vehicles, 1,500 registrations have been recorded. The government is targeting 25,000 registrations by mid-October. The program offers incentives such as tax reductions, interest subsidies, and fuel vouchers.
