The SPÖ Minister calls for half of the seniority. However, this project is not anchored in the government programme.
The Minister of Women Eva-Maria Holzleitner is in favour of half-half of the parental leave. On the other hand, one does not need to think about compulsory military service for women.
For more equality, a better division is necessary, she stresses, but also says: "We don't need to think about a women's duty."

Minister for Women's Affairs Eva-Maria Holzleitner (SPÖ) advocates a 50/50 split of parental leave in the long term. While this isn't enshrined in the government program, she said: If the goal is greater equality between women and men, "then we in Austria will have to think about the division of parental leave at some point," she said in an interview with APA. The "Real Men Do 50/50" campaign is already 30 years old.
