Researchers at the University Medical Center Groningen (UMCG) are enthusiastic about the use of virtual reality (VR) to treat people with psychoses. According to a study by psychiatrist Wim Veling, it works "at least as effectively" as conventional cognitive behavioral therapy. This is now the most important treatment to help people with psychosis get rid of paranoid ideas or fears.
