Two men charged for vile kangaroo act
- Two men were charged on Thursday following accusations that they intentionally struck a kangaroo with their vehicle in Lysterfield South on the night of April 23 around 10:20pm.
- Police launched an investigation following a public report and conducted raids at the men’s homes in Scoresby and Ringwood, seizing a Nissan Patrol.
- The 22-year-old from Scoresby and the 20-year-old from Ringwood have been charged with serious animal cruelty and offenses related to harming protected wildlife.
- Police allege the men intentionally drove their vehicle toward several kangaroos on Hallam North Road, resulting in the death of one animal, which they were then seen handling.
- The men are scheduled to appear at Dandenong Magistrates’ Court on August 19 to face the charges.
