At the Otlica measuring station in Trnovske gozd at an altitude of 950 meters, the hourly ozone value exceeded the warning value at 3 p.m. Since the measuring station is located in such a way that the data applies to the wider surrounding area, this means that ozone values are high in higher areas of Primorska, the Slovenian Environmental Agency (Arso) announced.

The rise is due to the current high temperatures and intense sunlight, which favour the formation of ground-level ozone.
