Actor Metin Yıldız was a guest on the program ‘Questions in Araf’ hosted by Esra Elönü on 24 TV. Yıldız reacted strongly to the boycott calls initiated by the CHP and said, “This is an insincere call, we do not know what we are boycotting. We do not know why we are boycotting either.”
CHP Chairman Özgür Özel responded to the claims of a non-detained trial bargaining with the government by saying, “I am not in a position to beg for İmamoğlu’s freedom. Can democracy and freedom be bargained for?” Özel also said about their decision to be in Kadıköy on May 1st, “It would not be right for a political party to steal a role from labor unions. That is why we said Kadıköy.”
CHP leader Özgür Özel, explaining his decision for May 1, said, “Unless there is a last minute change, I will be in Kadıköy with DİSK, KESK, TMMOB and TTB. If the unions had said Taksim, we would have said Taksim.”
CHP Chairman Özgür Özel canceled all his programs and came to Istanbul. Özel met with Ekrem İmamoğlu at Silivri Prison. Özel reacted to the claims of "bargaining for İmamoğlu's freedom" and said, "Let alone Özgür Özel, even Ekrem İmamoğlu himself cannot withdraw his candidacy for the presidency from now on. Our candidate is Ekrem İmamoğlu."
