Almost two years after President Xiomara Castro introduced the Tax Justice Law, the initiative seems to have been put at a standstill due to the opposition of bipartisanism and other conservative sectors. According to OXFAM, in Central America, $17.465 million is lost annually for tax evasion and abuse, a sum that could eliminate extreme poverty in five years.
