- This past week, The E.A. Sween Company recalled 127,887 pounds of pulled pork sandwich product for possible plastic contamination at retail locations nationwide, including the Department of Defense.
- The Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service said the wrapped 'Deli EXPRESS BBQ PULLED PORK on a sesame bun' sandwiches bearing the number 'EST. 2451' were produced between January 13, 2025 and October 15, 2025.
- Consumers reported finding pieces of plastic, and E.A. Sween Company officials traced the fragments to gallon plastic barbecue bottles, possibly from Sweet Baby Ray's BBQ sauce bottles.
- If you bought the recalled items, you shouldn't eat them and should promptly throw them away or return them to the store for a full refund, FSIS advised.
