Presidency Range Inspector-General Kankarprasad Barui urged residents to maintain peace, stating, "We have taken cognisance of the incident. We assure that strict action will be taken."
- A large security contingent has been deployed, and a Special Investigation Team is probing both the girl's death and the subsequent lynching. Investigators are examining those involved in attacks on officers while security remains tightened across the area.
