Ottawa offers provinces $2 billion to help train more skilled trades workers
The federal government will spend $2 billion to recruit and train up to 100,000 more Red Seal trade workers through deals with provinces and territories.
Minister Patty Hajdu announced this funding in Halifax to expand the existing Team Canada Strong program.
The funding aims to increase training capacity and reduce barriers to certification in provinces and territories.
Agreements with provinces and territories are expected to be finalized within this fiscal year.
