Otis, the most devastating hurricane in the history of Acapulco, is officially removed from the list of cyclonic names

Otis will no longer be named! The Hurricane Committee of the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) has decided to officially withdraw the name of Hurricane Otis from the rotating list of tropical cyclones of the Eastern North Pacific, in recognition of the magnitude of the tragedy it caused in the port of Acapulco, Guerrero, on October 25, 2023.
