ODISHA, AUG 1 – Seven arrests have been made in connection with the Special OTET-2025 leak involving handwritten papers sold to teachers who previously failed the exam, police said.
- Amid the OTET-2025 leak investigation, authorities arrested Prasant Kumar Khamari, a 56-year-old teacher from Kalahandi, marking the seventh arrest on July 31.
- Ahead of the July 20, 2025 exam, social media circulated images of handwritten question papers, prompting authorities to postpone the Special OTET 2025 examination, officials said.
- Investigators found Prasant Kumar Khamari conspired with Bijay Kumar Mishra, transferring Rs 99,000 via PhonePe and transcribing a computerised question paper, officials said.
- Crime Branch officials seized his mobile phone and collected handwriting samples before producing Prasant Kumar Khamari before the JMFC-III Court in Cuttack.
- Amid a tightened crackdown on exam malpractice, officials said ongoing investigations aim to uncover links and target remaining accused as forensic scrutiny progresses.
